Over a month has passed since my last post, and with good reason. Sometimes, there is a lot going on in your life and you simply have to prioritise things and relieve the pressure you’re putting on yourself to get everything done and be super successful. So lately, I have prioritised my study sessions, heading out for walks with my tunes in and doing things that have helped me stay calm and not lose the plot (reading a good book and watching Love Island to name a couple – no judgements here!). This is a question I ask myself a hell of a lot. Do I try and excel in my career, climb that ladder and earn enough to lead as comfortable life as I can? Or pack my bags, book that ticket so I can explore the world some more before I feel the tick tock of my body telling me to settle down and act on my maternal instincts? I bet it’s a question we’ve all asked ourselves plenty of times. Do I really need my job? Should I just quit and leave this all behind? What is it that I actually want from my twenties/thirties/and so on?
If you’ve read any of my past travel posts by now, you’ll know I LOVE a girly holiday. When we knew our lovely Emma was returning for a few weeks from New Zealand, we arranged a cheapy weekend away in sunny Somerset. We chose a caravan holiday because a) they’re so fun! and b) I get a discount through work for our great Haven sites all around the country. Continue reading
Another month has gone by and we’re now in June! Not sure how that happened, but my month started in the best way with a spontaneous trip to Brighton for the weekend with Danny who I met on the Kiwi Bus in New Zealand way back at the end of 2016! Over 19 months later, we reunited and made the trip down to the coast and had such a fun weekend exploring what this vibrant place had to offer Continue reading
It’s been 3 days since the bank holiday weekend and I’m still thinking of the food festival me and Lucy went to at Blenheim Palace on Monday. No, we’re not the ‘getting-drunk-in-the-club’ types. We love food. FREE food. So this bank holiday, we were our true foodie selves and hit the freebies at the festival, all in the beautiful setting of Blenheim Palace.
After our week of adventure touring the gorgeous Costa Rica, it was time for some R&R at the Riu Guanacaste, in Playa Matapolo. For starters, we were upgraded to a family room with side sea view which was beautiful. I’ve never been to such a big hotel before. It has over 700 rooms, 3 inter-connected pools, 5 a la carte restaurants and 5 bars, including a 24 hours sports bar. Continue reading
Pura Vida you lovely lot! Something I’ve been hashtagging the sh*t out of these past two weeks whilst living it up in Costa Rica with my best friend Sally. It means ‘pure life’ or ‘simple life’ but is ultimately a way of life. The Costa Rican culture and people had us enthralled from the start, and visiting a new place never fails to get me excited and appreciating things outside my little bubble. I’ve put together a post about where we went and some tips for if you go yourself! Why not go and watch the video I created over on my YouTube channel HERE – and I’ll love you forever if you subscribe whilst you’re there 😊
