With the evenings drawing in and the air getting cooler, it’s time to dust off our boots, dig out our scarves and embrace Autumn (and soon, Winter!) to the max! I have been rifling through my wardrobe as well as adding some additional bits to come up with some comfy and cosy looks for those chilly days!
1) Jeans and Jumper – UPGRADED!
I’m all for a classic knit with some skinny jeans and comfy boots, so this fluted sleeve design from Primark caught my eye and upped the anti in the jumper stakes. I like things that are a little bit different, with intricate details that make that piece of clothing more individual. This jumper cost me £10 and in a super flattering deep plum, I love it with my black jeans from New Look (these are the Hallie Disco style) and my River Island ankle boots.
2) The cosy cardigan.
Everyone needs that cosy cardigan to throw on over an outfit and I think I’ve found the one! I picked up this in Primark (again!) for £13 and I think it can get away with going over a lot of outfit choices. Plus is skims my bum and hips and doesn’t cut me off at my widest (good tip for us pear shapes!).
3) Check out that boot(y).
These long brown boots are from X and I got them about 4 years ago now! They have an elasticated panel at the back because my calves are too big for a lot of long leg boots on the high street. I love wearing my jeans tucked into them or with a nice dress and tights. I have a few nice shirts, checked, striped and sheer that can be paired with a jumper or under a dress to give them a wintery feel. I love my green checked one.
4) Accessories are everything.
Keep your head warm with a nice bobble hat and fingerless gloves are great and I love my wrist warmers that my auntie knitted me! My scarf collection is a bit out of control so I chose to show off my favourites – my Zara checked blanket scarf and this gorgeous grey scarf which my friend Hollie got me for my birthday last year.
6) Totally obsessed with the turtle kneck
Oh I love a turtle neck! I tuck them into my trousers for a smart workwear look or wear with jeans and a scarf on the weekends. Black is my staple colour and I love wearing it under my pinafore dress with some tights and boots.
I’m also loving wearing them with my dungaree dress.
7) The limbo jacket
Do you feel like between September and November it’s not quite cold enough for a full on winter coat but you still want that extra layer? Well I found this black waterfall jacket in New Look in the sale (YES!) and it it such a classic piece that I can throw over a lot of outfits! Hurray! Perfect for going from office to pub too, it can smarten up any ‘jeans and a nice top’ combo and I like how it gathers at the back so gives me some shape.
Can I just shout out to my bestie Sally who stepped in as photographer again and didn’t make me feel silly at all, I love you for it ❤
I hope you’ve felt inspired from some of my outfits! What are your Autumn staples? Any brands you’d recommend?
With lots of love and thanks for reading!
