I’ve pretty much been packed for Cyprus for a week already (can you tell I’m super excited?!) but today was all about getting together those little essentials that make your suitcase more complete.
Sun cream (duh)
Easily overlooked and rushed right before you head off. I did some browsing and settled on Boots Soltan. The factor 30 protect and tan will be perfect for my body and the factor 50 spray will be lighter on my face, hairline and good for topping up the sensitive bits throughout the day (I’m looking at your titties). This Wilko after sun lotion was a bargain £2.50 and I’ll also be taking the Forever SPF lip balm so I can pucker up round the pool with maximum protection.
I wanted to invest in a decent pair of sandals for my holiday and summer wardrobe in general. When I saw that Liss had got these Office sliders-cum-birkenstock style sandals, I fell in love. I quickly ordered myself a pair (£24 and free delivery – win!) and they are so comfortable, have arch support and the rose gold pretty much goes with anything. Perfect for wearing in the evening or out and about when we explore Paphos.
I ALWAYS read 2 books minimum on a week’s holiday. So I’ve gone for a chick lit – Sweet Temptation – it had cake and love on the cover, I was sold! And a more mindful book to take with me this time. The Power of Now is very much a self-help book all about making the most of your life, being present and living for now. I’m hoping to feel enlightened by the pool! I’m also taking my iPad with the kindle app on – books are cheaper to download than buy – and I’m being a granny with my stripy wide brimmed hat!
You always think of the bag you take to the beach, but what about the finishing touches to your evening outfits? This black beaded clutch from Primark was only £7 and the aztec style clutch is from TK Maxx. Both can mix and match with different outfits so that’s always a plus when packing.
I love taking some sparkle on holiday with me and these pieces are understated but will set a few of my outfits off nicely. I’ve become a bit obsessed with chokers so the white lacey one is a summery nod to the choker trend. And who can resist a bit of silver sparkle from Pandora and my namesake.
I love summer smells and choosing holiday perfumes. Next is amazing for cheaper perfumes that still pack a punch and they get me so many compliments! I’ve gone with Paradise and Summer Sun. The Victoria Secret body mists are great for during the day. (I’m addicted to smelling like coconuts).
So there you have it, a few essentials that complete my packing and bring it all together. Where are you going on holiday this summer?
With lots of love and excited to get on that plane…
