After an amazing weekend visiting my travel girls in Birmingham which included late nights, lots of alcohol and plenty of food (and chocolate – hello Cadbury world!), I could have succumbed to my bed as soon as I got back to do sweet fa, curled up in a ball with my mahoosive bar of dairy milk and Netflix. Instead my sister came over and suggested a walk… I reluctantly agreed but am actually glad I did.
I am very lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the country and Tring has some lovely walks right on our doorstep. One of which is Stubbings Wood leading to Hastoe. The bluebells were out, we saw two deer and ended up with a lovely view stretching to Ivinghoe Beacon.
Admittedly, I loved city living in Melbourne last year, and am planning to (eventually) leave behind the suburbian life for the city, whether that still be in the UK or further afield, but do still appreciate my country roots. When the sun out, it’s really nice to just get some fresh air and remind yourself of what’s around. And because we went at 4pm, we didn’t see a soul. Bliss.
And it was also a great excuse to get my camera out and take some pictures.
Short and sweet, but with love and lots of countryside appreciation,
