BIG NEWS. Mama and Papa C have gone away for the weekend to see Grandad C in Dorset. So, for those of you who also still live with your folks, you’ll know the joyous feeling of having A FREE HOUSE! ALL TO YOURSELF! When I found out the news a couple of weeks ago, I set about planning to have my nearest and dearest over for a night in. It was then that it dawned on me, staying in really is the shit. Cooking a Thai curry for my friends and having everyone chilling and chatting together with a glass of prosecco in hand just made me feel so content. 23 going on 43 and I don’t even care.
Don’t get me wrong, I love getting ready for a fun night out, but here’s why I think staying in is more my thing: Continue reading
New job alert! We’ve all gone through it, the first day where everything is new and we really don’t have any idea about what’s happening. I’ve been in my new job for almost 2 weeks now, and it got me thinking, all of us must have had a few of these thoughts crop up in our minds when starting in a new role. Don’t sweat it, just go with it!
Everyone has that one dish they love to cook or that one dessert they get a lotta praise for. Well this is my ‘signature bake’ if you will. Lots of tins of these delicious triple chocolate brownies have made their way into the office, to family gatherings and get togethers with friends. With it being winter, I thought it the perfect time to share my tried and tested brownie recipe to feed your soul and bring warmth to your heart (and heaps of chocolate to your tummy). After all, chocolate is vital for an amazing libido and general sane life.*
Interviews are never fun. And I had practically zero experience in the things until about a month ago, considering my one and only interview for my one and only job was more of an informal chat about cake. So when I took redundancy and was thrown into the world of job applications and awkward questions, I had to quickly get used to it.
So you’re off travelling. You’ve planned where you’re going, what you’re taking, who you’re seeing. All these things are so exciting and infectious and amazing! I was this person just over a year ago. Gearing up for my first ever trip away from home that was longer than 2 weeks and I couldn’t have been more excited. But the one thing I didn’t give much thought, if any thought at all, was what would happen upon my return to the UK.
It’s now 2 months since I’ve been back and I wanted to write something to explain exactly how I feel. Hopefully it can prepare those of you who are still away enjoying your adventures and let you others know you’re not alone if you’re in this current situation with me!
